June Trophy Blog

Picking a Theme for your Tournament Awards

We are in the heat of trophy season with production being dominated my tournament deadlines. It’s like Santa’s workshop here, but for awards! Here’s a look at some of the trophies that have gone out recently. You’ll notice that some are very different from each other, even when for the same club. That’s because our sales team works with our clients to create unique trophies that you couldn’t get anywhere else which further brands the tournament

Here’s THE GUSHER trophies for Shawnee Country Club. They had an oil theme going with this event.

Whipporwill has been orders trophies for their Steamshovel Invitational for several years now from us. Each year we try to do something fresh with the design.

Champions Retreat did a re-order of their Member-Guest trophies. The trophy them on these was location specific with the state of Georgia for the flight winners, and then a specific tree at their club for the overall champions.

Schaffer’s Mill did a logo trophy for their Men’s Champions Making the logo as the focal point of the trophy is good for branding and just looks good.

The Bridges did their Chianti trophies with us. You can guess why their trophy theme was a bridge…

Bob O’link Golf Course booked several trophy orders from us. Their Member-Guest is logo themed and then their Harvest Home trophy for fall time as an apple theme (harvesting apples).

Squire Creek wanted to use their tournament logo as the main theme, but also their club logo on the base.

Sonnenalp Club did a shootout trophy with a cutout of a gun and then their logo. We also drilled ‘bullet holes’ into the base.

The River Club wanted to do a water themed trophy, so they picked a canoe. The champions earned canoes, and the flight winners earned paddles.

Here’s a plaque that we did for a local charity, Idaho Youth Ranch.

Windsong Farms used their tournament logo for their champion awards.

Spurwing did a re-order of their derby and Wing Ding Classic trophies this year.

We will have more photos to share soon! If you want to book your next trophy order with us, please let us know. Thanks!

Trophies for every event!

May 11, 2018 by Joy Ball

The first week of June is the biggest week for tournament deadlines. Here’s a few of the trophies that are on their way to prize tables across the nation!

Wolf Creek’s players have liked their champion trophy that we did a re-order this year.

Elmcrest CC will be giving out this tree trophy for their Member-Member awards.

Champions Run asked for a rustic tree trophy for their Cottonwood Classic champion, and then a more polished look for their Member-Member champion.

Skagit Golf & Country Club re-ordered their ‘Skagit Open’ awards for 2018.

Pine Canyon took the shootout theme to the next level with these trophies. They turned out amazing!!

Warner Truck worked with us on the design of these fun event themed trophies.

Sometimes tournaments are food themed/named which is the case for The Tuxedo Club’s PIG ROAST awards.

Here’s a few awards that we did for Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Cliffs and horse race awards for Martis Camp & Windsong Farms

Here’s the Azalea Awards that Blue Jack National will be giving out, and the bear trophies for Toscana Country Club.

Below are a handful more that went out:

We also build custom perpetual trophies and plaques.

Driving Range Supplies, Tee Markers & More!

May 2, 2018 by Joy Ball

Let’s start today’s blog with the Country Club of Sioux Falls account. We worked closely with them to design accessories that will look beautiful on their driving range.  First, is their hanging range sign that will have slide-in white vinyl numbers to indicate the distances.

Next, is their range dividers. They made the design a little different that on their other products but it comes together because of the coloring. It gives a nice variation to their presentation.

For range signs we made them a Divot Repair Sign, Wedge Development Sign & Reserved for Instruction Sign. They were very much a part of each design. Notice how the lettering is raised instead of cutout with a black plate behind it. That was their idea and it came out nice! This account is a good example of how our clients can be involved in their designs. You just can’t do that with other companies.

Here’s their shag bag holder. We used a thick layer of metal for durability on their logo.

The Patriot Club asked us to rush custom trash can enclosures and a podium to them with a tight deadline. We designed their enclosures around their 38″ tall can. This unit is going to be perfect for smokers who want to lean up against it, and for players who are tall and don’t want to bend over when throwing away their waste.

Whisper Rock signed off on custom trash can enclosures as well. These are going to look nice at their beautiful facility.

Brentwood Country Club in California helped us design custom yardage markers & a small chip flop sign.  They put a lot of thought into these, and the markers turned out good!

For Lakewood Country Club (Dallas), we made range dividers and club cleaning stations.

We were also asked to make 2 TRACKMAN range dividers.

Besides updating clients’ driving ranges, we also worked on tee markers. Here’s what we did for Cress Creek, Monticito and Oak Hills Country Club.

For tournament supplies, we made the USGA a tournament case for their Walker Cup tournament, and we made a rush order tournament box for Dallas Athletic Club.

That’s all for today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Driving & Practice Range Ideas

April 13, 2018 by Joy Ball

Let’s start today’s blog with the ball crates that we made for Mountainbrook Country Club. The bottom has a ramp inside to lean the balls towards the opening.

The ball boxes that we make are easy for players to use. Below is a photo of why we personally don’t like use the other crates out there on the market (balls got stuck on this one).

We’ve shown the half barrel ball baskets off on our website/blog before, but the ones that we made for Victory Ranch in Utah have corners for tees. It’s a nice added touch.

Driving Range/Amenities Boxes: Usually we’re asked to build these about 42″wide by 20″, which gives a significant amount of storage space for towels, bags of balls, and trinkets. The Northwood Club in Dallas, Texas wanted smaller versions for their 1st tee and range (28″ wide to 30″wide). These compact versions of our range boxes are perfect for storage, but without taking up a lot of room. Northwood also has the large version that we made last Fall.

Next, for driving range accessories is the bag stand that we made for Troon North in AZ, the club cleaner & range dividers for Lookout Mountain Club.

The wine barrel range targets have been getting quite a few orders in the last couple of years. Usually courses want to brand them with their logo, but in this case the client wanted to keep it simplistic.

That’s all for today, be sure to keep looking at our galleries since we update them weekly. Thanks!!!

Trophies!!!

March 14, 2018 by Joy Ball

As you’re planning your tournament prizes, think about giving your players an award that’s extra special; custom trophies that are unique to your club and event.

We did a few last minute awards for the Private Course at PGA West that turned out really nice. The couples’ event had a jazz/flapper theme, while the ladies’ event had an Alice in Wonderland theme. The Pars Fore Paws of course had to have a paw print (: These were fun designs to create!

Frederica GC has a special tree on their property that they wanted to be the focal point of their trophy. These chose a light bronze color as their powder coat.

FSGA did a re-order of their shootout award that their players love.

We did a last minute trophy for Gailardia’s Opening Day tournament. i really like the color combination of the gold and the copper vein. Notice how we engraved their logo on their flag.

La Quinta Country Club did a re-order of their award, but for their Roadrunner event, we did a size change on the base.

First time client Westminister National Golf Course did two of their events with us. I like how the engraving looks on their yellow plate for their ‘masters’ themed trophy.

Waialae did a par 3 award with us, and With Open Eyes did a re-order of their shootout trophy. Desert Mountain also did a shootout themed award with replica bullets and a cutout of a pistol.

Not only do you need awards for your events, but you also need a tournament case.

Ball Trays & Baskets

March 8, 2018 by Joy Ball

Looking for an alternative to ball pyramids? At RHI, we offer creative and custom solutions to update your driving range.

Dallas National & Winterhaven CC asked us to make custom ball trays that give a clean look to the range. These are easy for staff to stack and for players to use.

Another driving range solution, are the barrel ball baskets that we’ve been making. This past week we’ve made them for Valhalla & The Bridges at Santa Fe.

Here’s a look into our ball box gallery for more style options.

Golf Course Sign Ideas

February 28, 2018 by Joy Ball

Golf Course Signage is something that every course needs, but how you do it is what’s important. Having mismatched signs is an easy way to undermine your presentation. It’s best to have all the colors, design and logos as consistent as possible. It’s what’s expected from private country clubs, but it doesn’t have to break the bank/budget.

We made several signs for The Northwood Club in Dallas, Texas, but here’s a look at a few. Notice how they stick with the same white on all of their signs, and then most of the signs  have their logo on it in copper vein (their main color on their driving range). So that the sign isn’t text heavy, it’s sometimes a good idea to use only the icon part of your logo.

Here’s A-frame Directional Signs for Troon CC and Legacy Ridge CC.

We made A-frame yardage signs for Mayacama in California as part of their range project (more pictures will be posted soon).

Isleworth chose to make their Ball Drop Sign consistent with their tee marker presentation. It looks classy and what you would expect at Isleworth Golf & Country Club.

Driving range clocks are also important to tie in with the rest of the signs and driving range colors/presenation.

Then there’s the yardage posts that we made for Roaring Forks CC and tee sign for Southern Dunes CC.

A logo isn’t always needed like in the case of Rolling Hills CC (CALIFORNIA) ‘back nine closed’ sign and Ko Olina Golf Club’s cart directional signs.

That’s all for today on golf course signs. Thanks for reading our blog!!!
