Custom Golf Course Accessories
by Joy Ball
We are in the heat of trophy season with production being dominated my tournament deadlines. It’s like Santa’s workshop here, but for awards! Here’s a look at some of the trophies that have gone out recently. You’ll notice that some are very different from each other, even when for the same club. That’s because our sales team works with our clients to create unique trophies that you couldn’t get anywhere else which further brands the tournament
Here’s THE GUSHER trophies for Shawnee Country Club. They had an oil theme going with this event.
Whipporwill has been orders trophies for their Steamshovel Invitational for several years now from us. Each year we try to do something fresh with the design.
Champions Retreat did a re-order of their Member-Guest trophies. The trophy them on these was location specific with the state of Georgia for the flight winners, and then a specific tree at their club for the overall champions.
Schaffer’s Mill did a logo trophy for their Men’s Champions Making the logo as the focal point of the trophy is good for branding and just looks good.
The Bridges did their Chianti trophies with us. You can guess why their trophy theme was a bridge…
Bob O’link Golf Course booked several trophy orders from us. Their Member-Guest is logo themed and then their Harvest Home trophy for fall time as an apple theme (harvesting apples).
Squire Creek wanted to use their tournament logo as the main theme, but also their club logo on the base.
Sonnenalp Club did a shootout trophy with a cutout of a gun and then their logo. We also drilled ‘bullet holes’ into the base.
The River Club wanted to do a water themed trophy, so they picked a canoe. The champions earned canoes, and the flight winners earned paddles.
Here’s a plaque that we did for a local charity, Idaho Youth Ranch.
Windsong Farms used their tournament logo for their champion awards.
Spurwing did a re-order of their derby and Wing Ding Classic trophies this year.
We will have more photos to share soon! If you want to book your next trophy order with us, please let us know. Thanks!

Wolf Creek’s players have liked their champion trophy that we did a re-order this year.
Elmcrest CC will be giving out this tree trophy for their Member-Member awards.
Champions Run asked for a rustic tree trophy for their Cottonwood Classic champion, and then a more polished look for their Member-Member champion.
Skagit Golf & Country Club re-ordered their ‘Skagit Open’ awards for 2018.
Pine Canyon took the shootout theme to the next level with these trophies. They turned out amazing!!
Warner Truck worked with us on the design of these fun event themed trophies.
Sometimes tournaments are food themed/named which is the case for The Tuxedo Club’s PIG ROAST awards.
Here’s a few awards that we did for Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Cliffs and horse race awards for Martis Camp & Windsong Farms
Here’s the Azalea Awards that Blue Jack National will be giving out, and the bear trophies for Toscana Country Club.
Below are a handful more that went out:
We also build custom perpetual trophies and plaques.

As you’re planning your tournament prizes, think about giving your players an award that’s extra special; custom trophies that are unique to your club and event.
We did a few last minute awards for the Private Course at PGA West that turned out really nice. The couples’ event had a jazz/flapper theme, while the ladies’ event had an Alice in Wonderland theme. The Pars Fore Paws of course had to have a paw print (: These were fun designs to create!
Frederica GC has a special tree on their property that they wanted to be the focal point of their trophy. These chose a light bronze color as their powder coat.
FSGA did a re-order of their shootout award that their players love.
We did a last minute trophy for Gailardia’s Opening Day tournament. i really like the color combination of the gold and the copper vein. Notice how we engraved their logo on their flag.
La Quinta Country Club did a re-order of their award, but for their Roadrunner event, we did a size change on the base.
First time client Westminister National Golf Course did two of their events with us. I like how the engraving looks on their yellow plate for their ‘masters’ themed trophy.
Waialae did a par 3 award with us, and With Open Eyes did a re-order of their shootout trophy. Desert Mountain also did a shootout themed award with replica bullets and a cutout of a pistol.
Not only do you need awards for your events, but you also need a tournament case.

Setting up your prize table is another change to step up your presentation. It brands your tournament, so have fun with it. One of my favorites is what The Gallery (Troon) did awhile back. They had a shootout theme and you can tell that they had fun with it, because they included a saddle, rope, a western style blanket, etc. along with the pistol trophies that we made for them. Presentation truly is all about the details.
You can also use floral elements to dress up the look like Wyoming Valley and The Bridges at Santa Fe did; they both look good.
Or you can keep it simple with a custom table-cloth on the table like Pete Dye did.
And of course, having custom trophies from us at RHI Golf is a must. We make you look good by creating high-quality and creative awards that you can’t get anywhere else. These awards tie in to the identity of your tournament and further the branding of your club. Generic crystal is something that everyone has seen, so setting yourself apart with creative awards that are unique to your club is an absolute must for a private country club in my humble opinion.
Here’s a look at the awards that we have made lately. First one is for University of Missouri and then the Superintendent’s Revenge trophy is for Squire Creek Country Club.
Sunset CC’s players liked the awards that we did last year so much that they did a re-order. Here’s their double pistol shootout award and horseshoe award.
Squire Creek CC also did a par 3 award in the shape of their home state; Louisiana. I think that these location shaped trophies are a great idea. It’s great for the player who loves their state, and for the player who is from out-of-town. Good way to make the trophy from your club and destination stand out..
The pro from LedgeRock went to The Legacy and called us up about a last minute trophy. We were happy to make this. We tried out our black engraving plate on black trophy base with silver engraving. i think that it turned out great, and I really like the new flat black that we ordered (BK-08). It’s not so flashy like our gloss black that we have.
Then there’s the Hillcat trophy that we built with multi-layers.
Here are the eagle awards that we made for Stone Eagle and Ferris State University.
The Old Course at Broken Sound did a re-order of their bridge trophies, but this time we made them smaller than past years and freshened up the design a little. Sometimes you don’t want to change a beloved award completely, but instead make a small change to give it a ‘new look’.
Next, are the plaques that we did for The Cliffs at Keowee Springs, and the awards that we made for Duffing for Dollars tournament in Florida.

We sent out tee markers for TaylorMade to use on Demo Day at the show on Tuesday.
We also made tee markers for Teton Springs and re-orders for Westin Kierland.
Lastly, for tee markers made sets for GSGA. I like how nice their logo stands out against the white powder coat.
For tournament awards, we made a re-order for University of Missouri and shootout awards for Sunset Country Club.
Louisville Country Club will soon be getting their bag stands, club cleaners, and half barrel ball baskets. I love the green that they chose; it’s GN220 and has a durable hammer texture to it, so it won’t scratch easily. It’s a great powder coat for driving range furniture.
Next up is the custom easel that we made for PGA West.
That’s all to share for now. We have several big projects in the works that we’ll soon be sharing. Have a great weekend!

Ordering your 2018 Spring & Summer tournament awards in January is good because: 1) LESS STRESS -There’s less stress for everyone when you have your trophies in-hand before your event. 2) PROMOTION -Trophies can create a buzz if you share a photo of it to your members through social media, etc. or have the champion awards in the golf shop for display.. I’ve heard that promoting the prizes increases registration numbers. 3) SAVE ON SHIPPING -It may seem obvious, but when you order early, we can use Ground shipping, which costs less than expedited shipping… Our clients know that they can count on us to help for a last-minute trophy order (within reason of course), but if you can, why not order early?
Here’s a look at the tournament prizes that we shipped out this past week:
Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave, Texas did a bulk order for their 2018 tournament prizes (smart idea).
Travis Matthew is giving out these awards next week at the 2018 PGA Show in Orlando, Florida for their top sales reps:
Here’s a few more trophies that have come out of our shop this past couple of weeks. As you can see clubs are gearing up for tournament season!!

Here at RHI Headquarters it may be snowing outside and freezing, but we’re in-gear for Spring Opening Day. Our clients are ordering early, and we’re getting their custom projects out the door! We’re going to give you the ‘rundown’ today on what we’ve been building lately so that you can get inspiration and then get started with us on the design/order process.
Talking Rock put in an order for the barrel ball buckets. These hold about 150 balls and give their driving range a unique presentation that traditional ball pyramids just don’t give..
The Country Club at Winter Haven was our ‘guinea pig’ with our new ball tray design. Yesterday, I received at email from our contact there, and Josh said that they really like these trays. As a custom shop, we make things for the ‘first time’ weekly. It keeps things creative and interesting.
Another custom project that we were asked to do was for San Jose CC. We built a custom sand & seed table with sections for amenities like tees, divot repair tools, ball marks, etc. Then we did a divot mix box for Pine Canyon CC.
We shipped out mini-flags for Teton Springs yesterday, and then some for Vasari last week.
Now for Golf Course Signage, Mirabel had us make new pool signs for them. They turned out nice in my humble opinion..
Here’s the driving range clock sign that we did for Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, and the parking log sign that we did for Troon Country Club (show without the post).
Here’s the trash enclosure, yardage sign and driving range ALL IN ONE COMBO that Fiddler’s Elbow had us custom design for them. This was produced from a sketch that they emailed us..
We’re starting on the Roaring Forks Club driving range project, but here’s a sneak peak at one of their products; club cleaners. They are using a textured hammer color called ‘Bronze Hammer’. It’s a new powder coat that we’ve been using for a couple of clubs, and it looks really nice..
Even though it’s January NOW IS THE TIME to start putting in your trophy orders if you can for Spring and Summer. It’s good having your trophies early because 1) less stress 2) trophies can create a buzz if you share a photo of it to your members and/or have the champion awards in the golf shop for display.. Here’s a look at the trophies that we made for The Crosby Club, Southern Dunes and a Hole-in-One award.
More tournament supplies that came out this past week were the proximity markers for Annandale Club + starter boxes & trays for Capital City.
Thanks for reading our blog. The SPRING SEASON IS COMING, so there will be much more to post very soon!!
